Blue eyes run in the family

Since the age of seven, I have known that I only share genes with my mother, not with my father. The other half of my lineage has since been represented by a sperm donor code and a certain amount of secrecy. This body of work is an exploration of the archival, documentary, illustrative, and interpretive aspects of the photographic medium in relation to my personal history.

She has her father’s eyes

As the offspring of a donor, my subsequent choice to donate creates a generational cycle, in which I will be assuming various roles as the cycle continues. In as little as 18 years from now I could be contacted by a child created from my donated sperm. Perhaps it will be a girl, my first daughter. How I will eventually look upon her face and be startled to see evidence of myself there. These unknown girls are collaboratively created characters, combinations of myself and a female. They are imagined possibilities that are yet to be born.
