Explicación Visual Visual Explanation
As the title of the project suggests, this is a visual explanation of eight archaeological sites found throughout south central Mexico. The series, which includes an information booklet and a map for each site, is based on the idea of conveying information through visual elements like photographs and vectorial maps. The formats of all the items of the project are directly related to that of the Codex Nuttall, an accordion-like book made by the Mixtec people of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, which is currently held in the British Museum. The series is completed by a catalogue that contains detailed photographs of each site. The content of the catalogue has been organized according to an architectural analysis that groups and compares all the structures within the ancient cities depending on the functions they carried out when they were in use.
