Shed

As a child, I spent a significant amount of my time in a large, wooden
structure that I used as a den. Set away physically and emotionally
from the family, the shed provided a space in which I could connect
with my true being.

Within this space I played out a variety of fantasies in an
ever-changing landscape, discovering essential life themes.

This installation revisits these childhood memories, linking them with
experiences that have contemporary relevance: the birth of my daughter
and the death of my father during my MA study.

A tension exists between the alluring, childlike imagery of fantasy,
and the sobering, sometimes shocking content of real life.
